Ministry
Our church is involved in various ministries through which we seek to share the love of God with others. We have an active prison ministry in which several of our men make weekly visits to the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution.
Our church has appointed five men to serve as deacons. They serve in an advisory capacity to the pastor. The congregation is divided among these men, and each deacon gives special attention to those placed under his care.
Our ladies participate in a number of ministries. Our Woman’s Auxiliary meets regularly, serving in a variety of ways. They especially focus on missions-related needs. They enjoy fellowship with one another, sometimes going to various women’s get-togethers. We also have Women’s Encouragement Groups in which ladies meet and support one another. Both the Auxiliary and the Encouragement Groups often use curriculum aimed at women’s issues.
The pastoral staff, along with other qualified members of the church, involve themselves in various counseling ministries. Our church regularly helps in the area of family counseling. Each year all our couples are invited to attend a church-sponsored retreat aimed at marriage and parenting issues.
Our ministry to seniors, the Joyful Hearts, is under the direction of Von Rumfelt. They meet regularly and go on various outings throughout the year.
Our ladies regularly reach out by providing meals to those in difficult circumstances. This ministry is under the direction of Mrs. Jill Ketteman.
